Shirley Hubbard Obituary, Death Cause – Shirley Ann Hubbard passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at her home in Nokomis. She was 97 years old at the time of her death, and her family was there at the time of her passing. Visitation will be held at the Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis on Thursday, July 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. on the same day. The burial will take place at Nokomis Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.

They just celebrated their 77th year of being married. Shirley has held positions of employment at both the Sheepskin Manufacturing company and the state of Illinois. Shirley counted her family as her primary source of joy throughout her life. Pinochle was yet another of her favorite card games to play, and she frequently did so. She and George were the proud parents of three sons: Marc Edward Hubbard (and his wife Amanda) of Nokomis, Blake Andrew Hubbard (and his wife Jackie) of Ottawa, and Lance George Hubbard of Nokomis. They also had grandchildren: Dawn Denise Hubbard, Jina (Mike) Boarman, Bailee (Eric) Radle, Breann Vincent, Nick English, Brittney (Tyler) Batty, and Ashley (Chance) Alte

The Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home is providing the family with help with the preparations that need to be made. Shirley Kapilla was born on January 29, 1926 in the town of Coalton in the state of Illinois. Her father was named Andrew, and her mother’s name was Anna (Bednar). She graduated from Nokomis High School, where she had attended before. She and George Hubbard tied the wedding on June 29, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis.
