Ronald Roy Obituary, Ronald Roy Has Passed Away

Ronald Roy Obituary, Death Cause – After a brief struggle with cancer, Ronald Joseph Roy, better known as Ron, passed away on April 8, 2023 at the Vernon Hospice. He was surrounded by his children at the time of his passing. In Newcastle, New Brunswick, on June 22, 1945, Ron Roy was born to his parents, Edgar and Hedwidge Roy, also known as Memere and Pepere.
He was the second child out of a total of six. His anecdotes frequently detailed the shenanigans that he and his siblings Yoland, Raymond, Thelma, Annette, and Paul got into when they were younger. He struggled with tuberculosis throughout his childhood, and as a result, he spent much of that time away from his family and in medical facilities.

After this time, Ron went on to live a full and active life, eventually getting a degree in Economics from the University of New Brunswick. It was there that he met Linda Murphy, who would later become his wife and his best friend. After relocating to Montreal in 1973, Ron and Linda were blessed with their first child, Catherine, in 1974, just a few short months before moving even further west to Fort McMurray, Alberta. They named their second kid Gregory (Greg), and it was here that they constructed their first house. It was also here that Ron established a prosperous accounting business with his business partners.

Following retirement in 2005, Ron and Linda moved to Vernon, British Columbia, so that Ron could spend his days engaging in the activities that he enjoyed most, including skiing, bicycling, boating, kayaking, and swimming. During their time together and after they retired, they went to a number of other countries and continents, including New Zealand, China, Egypt, and a significant portion of Europe. The last years of Ron’s life were spent providing care for his cherished Linda while she battled Alzheimer’s disease. He is left by his wife and best friend, Linda Roy, his children Greg and Cathy (spouses Carly and William), and his grandchildren, Rowan, Gavin, Max, and Sam Roy, who were the pride and pleasure of his life, in addition to his siblings, a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He will be much missed by all of them.

During this challenging moment, we would want to extend our most sincere gratitude to everyone who has shown support for us. During this difficult time, we want to express our deep appreciation for the thoughtfulness and generosity of our friends, family, and community. A gathering to celebrate Ron’s life will take place at Seasons in Vernon, British Columbia on July 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. A Zoom meeting has been set for individuals who are unable to attend. The meeting can be accessed at the following URL:…. RONROY is the password needed to sign up. Ron enjoyed activities such as boating, motorcycling, skiing, and most of all, spending time with his friends and family. As a way to pay respect to Ron, his family has asked that everyone take a moment to think of Ron while doing something that brings them joy, such as listening to their favorite song, jumping into a lake, or doing something else that is outside.
