Jay Stroh Obituary, Jay Stroh Has Passed Away

Jay Stroh Obituary, Death Cause – Jay Stroh, who served as the former chief of police in El Segundo, California, passed away on June 23 in a quiet and peaceful manner. He had 93 years under his belt. The year 1951 marked the beginning of Chief Stroh’s career in law enforcement when he joined the Torrance Police Department and became a member of the force. Chief Stroh is a veteran of a variety of law enforcement agencies, where he rose through the ranks to become chief.

Over the course of his life, Chief Stroh volunteered more than 49 years of his time to serve and protect the people of Los Angeles County, California, and the state of California. Since Chief Stroh had spent a significant amount of time in El Segundo, he developed a profound fondness for the town’s residents. We don’t like to brag, but it was common knowledge that Chief Stroh would proclaim to people that ESPD was his favorite place to work out of all the places he had worked in the past. We don’t like to brag either. In recognition of Chief Jay Stroh, a brief flyover of our neighborhood will be carried out by a helicopter from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, July 10 at approximately six o’clock in the evening. Many thanks, and may God grant you eternal rest, 3C1.

He was given the position of Director of the State Alcohol and Beverage Control by Governor Deukmejian in the year 1983. Before that, he held positions as a lieutenant for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, as Chief of Police for both the El Segundo and Inglewood PDs, as Director of Security for Hollywood Park, and as Chief of Police for both departments. He also served as a lieutenant for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
