Carol Baxter Obituary Resident Of Crestline, Has Died

Carol Baxter Obituary, Death Cause – Carol Sue Baxter, age 80, of Crestline, California, died away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at her home. She was surrounded by her devoted family at the time of her passing. Carol was born in Crestline, Ohio on August 25, 1942. Her parents, Gaylord J. and Susanne K. (Scholler) Strickler, passed away before her birth. The time that Carol was able to spend with her grandkids was extremely precious to her, and she valued them more than anything else in the world. To be cherished and kept. Carol will always remember her children, Stephanie (Mike) Saurers of Galion and Justin (Katie) Baxter of Chicago, IL; her Hanai daughters, Trina (Mark) Ramsey of Dallas, Texas and Lisa Ross of Glendora, California; her four grandchildren, Mason, Carson, Susanna, and Ezra; and her beloved children’s father and best friend, Steve Baxter of Mansfield.

Carol was a member of the graduating class of 1960 from Crestline High School. She continued her studies by enrolling in classes at Ashland University, where she eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. Before Carol took her retirement in 2010, she spent a number of years working at the Richland County Children Services. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Warrenville, Illinois, where she went on Sundays but viewed the services online using zoom. Because Carol enjoyed reading so much.

She decided to spend her retirement years working at the Crestline Public Library. She delighted in spending time outside and was justifiably proud of the countless hours she devoted to cultivating her garden and tending to her flowers. In addition, traveling and listening to music of all genres were two of Carol’s favorite things to do. She was an avid collector of recipe books, and she never failed to bring an original dish to holiday gatherings where she was a guest.
